Lesson 50. Love Is . . .

Love is the most beautiful, necessary, and joyful thing in the life of every person. We were created by Love for love.

Love is the single pulse of the Universe, which was conceived and created by God to bear witness throughout Eternity to the love of the Creator. And according to His design, I am part of this great organism.

Love conceived our world and created it. She placed all Her talent and creative power into every speck of dust, filling the visible world with a diversity of colors and sounds.

Love is the law of life and life itself. Without her, everything begins to wither and die. Sin introduced its own changes into the laws of existence and brought death. But Love conquered death and tore out its sting, appointing a time when everything unclean and evil will be completely destroyed by cleansing fire. And that day is approaching.

Love is wisdom and creative power that produces what is beautiful and wonderful. She is an unpredictable imagination capable of devising new projects for the joy and happiness of others. Love continually gives birth to new ideas so that through them she may reveal her beauty and attractiveness to the world. She is diverse in her manifestations.

Love is the character of God expressed and revealed in nature, in the law, in the Bible, and in the life of Jesus Christ. Her purpose is to reveal herself and be reflected in the actions and way of thinking of righteous people. Love forms the character of the person who receives her into the likeness of the One from Whom she proceeds.

Love is a lifelong test. She mercilessly points out sin and wages war against it on every front, conquering every evil and impurity. Love is the victor’s banner beneath which all God’s faithful children gather to win battles and conquer new territories, establishing God’s principles and standards of life.

Love is the mightiest power in the Universe, capable of destroying every evil, demolishing ungodly thoughts, and bringing stony hearts to life. She is strong where she is received and where she rules. Yet love also treats the choice of every person with respect, allowing each one to live as they determine for themselves. Love respects and safeguards personal freedom even when a person has chosen an evil path.

Love is my personal choice of the path of life that God Himself has offered me. By choosing love, I give God authority to change my life and restore it according to His plans and standards. Love accomplishes this beautifully, confidently producing within me what God desires to see. She applies all her creative power to restoring a pure and holy character within me. And she succeeds if I do not depart from the right path.

Love is the life of God within me. She is that invisible bond between our souls which unites our hearts so that we may know one another more deeply and, through that knowledge, enjoy the most trusting and intimate relationship.

Love is God’s plan for the future of the entire Universe. She will completely destroy sin from every corner of it. She will cleanse the consciousness of all Heavenly beings and bring all God’s creation to one Divine standard called: love one another and serve one another. This will be the most joyful occupation throughout all the ages of endless Eternity.

Love is the eternal condition of a living organism. She does not disappear with the years or wither with time, but always remains fresh, strong, and ready for new victories and conquests.

Love is life more abundantly. She begins upon this Earth, but her prospect extends into endless Eternity so that there in the distant future she may remain as fresh and beautiful as she was at the very beginning of my journey.

Love is an unearthly beauty capable of transforming any person, any appearance, and any image into a masterpiece. Wherever she places her seal, everything becomes amazingly wonderful and beautiful. She is the touch of God’s Hand that adorns every appearance and every deed. Love will never repel anyone or turn anyone away by her outward appearance, for she is modest, pure, attractive, and full of good works.

Love is a magnet that draws to herself every intelligent, thirsty, and seeking soul. She draws people toward the inexhaustible springs of her generosity, giving life, meaning, and hope for something better and more beautiful.

Love is a mystery to the soul that can be solved only by one who immerses themselves in her and sees her from within.

Love is an ocean of new possibilities, new technologies, and new prospects for structuring human life and activity. She is available in every sphere and finds application everywhere.

Love is a ship whose Captain is the Lord Jesus. This ship will bring me into the quiet harbor of Eternity, overcoming every storm and tempest of human passion.

Love is sorrow and sighing over all the abominations taking place among my people, of whom I too am a part.

Love is that very place within my consciousness upon which God will soon place His seal, making it my special mark distinguishing me from a perishing world.

Love is the power to love when darkness, unbelief, sorrow, crisis, and chaos are all around.

Yet despite all her boundless power, love remains a very tender plant that needs careful tending and nourishment from me. She is ready to withstand every external attack and trial and will not be broken by any storm or hurricane from without. Yet within me she remains the most fragile plant, requiring continual care and gentle treatment. Love cannot endure the cold of selfishness or dalliance with sin within my heart. She will not accompany me into forbidden territory, for there she could die. She will await my decision to nourish her from the living fountain of God’s grace and will draw her strength from the ocean of God’s love. It will always remain a mystery to me that Almighty God has limited His infinite power within me by my choice. Without Him I can do nothing, and without me He will accomplish nothing within me. But our mutual love solves this problem very simply, and love quickly blossoms in all her beauty and majesty.

Love is a tiny seed that, upon falling into the good soil of my heart, grows and becomes a great tree bearing its fruit in its season. Beneath the shade of its leaves, this tree gathers weary travelers and friends to give them rest and renew their strength. She protects tormented souls from the scorching heat and carries within herself God’s blessing, which maketh rich and addeth no sorrow with it.

God is Love, and he who abides in love abides in God. Such is the law of Eternal life. This is how it works.

Love is a path that you, my friend, may choose and walk together with God, writing your own love story upon your heart.
