A Letter to My Future Wife

One of the students of the Agape School of Love, under the influence of this very love and learning the science of happiness, love, and friendship, decided to bring joy to the one who is not yet in his life but about whom he already knows what to do. And in this decision, our hero thought of writing a letter to the girl who may appear at any time, so that later, when living with her in marriage, he could hand her this message and compare reality with expectation. Although it is not customary to read other people’s letters, we will make an exception for the sake of those who are building a happy family.

Below is this very message to the future:

“Hello, my dear half, peace to you. I am writing you this letter even before I have met you, to honestly tell you how much I love you.

Perhaps we already know each other, but not yet well enough to build a family. But I pray for you every day and make important decisions regarding you. I know that the Lord hears me and is already teaching me to love you, shaping my character in His likeness. One day He will introduce us and give us to each other, and it will be so wonderful! I do not know who you are or what you will be like, but I can tell you about who I am and how I will love you.

I have very high requirements for myself, so I am in no hurry to find you; I want first to deal with my own characteristics so that it will be good, cozy, and comfortable for you to live with me.

I have taken you as my wife for my whole life and therefore I am interested in you being happy living with me under one roof and sharing your joys and cares with me. It is written that I will think about how to please you, so I am already trying to arrange this matter so that everything will be right, pure, and blessed.

I have learned what you should not be and what to pay attention to so as not to make a mistake and choose instead of the real gift from the Lord some counterfeit. Forgive me that at the beginning of our friendship I was very observant to understand that you are you and that you are from the Lord. But the Lord day by day revealed to me your inner beauty and let me understand that something good can be built with you, so I did not resist long and chose you.

But my choice remains mine and does not depend on yours. You could at any moment refuse me the continuation of our relationship, and I would take it as a sign from the Lord and would not bother you. Your freedom is very dear to me, and I respect your will so much that I cannot even ask anything for myself, waiting for you to decide everything yourself. And you decided to be my friend. This is so amazing! And what did you find so good in me?! You are a mystery to me from the very first day of our acquaintance, but I will try to solve you throughout all Eternity and will be very glad of this.

Thank you very much for deciding to become my friend and helping me learn many good things about myself and about your spiritual world.

Every time something new was revealed to me in you, I hastened to tell you about it, and we marveled at these discoveries together and began to study and apply them more deeply in life. You are an amazing person! I could not even imagine that in such a fragile being there could be such boundless strength and resources, which were initially laid in you and waited for their treasure seeker, who, to my surprise, turned out to be me.

In friendship with you I understood that your mood can change like the seasons, and in this there are its difficulties and charms, but I accept you as you are and will not try to remake you. I am more interested now in how I can better adjust to you to learn to anticipate your desires and expectations and do everything possible to make you feel good. This is my choice—to love you as a friend, and now also as a wife.

I am not interested in the opinion of those around me, although I always rejoice at wise advice. But I understand that I will have to live with you, and therefore it is with you that I will solve our common tasks, arranging everything so that we are both satisfied.

Please remember the main thing. You are my wife forever, and whatever you may become, externally or internally, I will never leave you. You are given to me by God to always be mine. And only death will separate us.

If you decide to make me the head of our family and will with all your soul and understanding support this choice, then I will serve you all my life and rejoice that in our family kingdom there is a queen. If you choose a different attitude toward me, then I promise that I will always love you and do everything the Lord teaches me in such a situation. I grant you full freedom to be who you decide to be and will always respect your choice.

Also please take into account that I also know how to choose good things and will expect that my choice will be accepted with respect.

Imagine how wonderful it will be if our choice of a common path and spirit coincides, and we can go together in one direction, loving each other from a pure heart.

I also want to assure you that for me you are the best person in the world, the best wife, the best friend of life. All this you are and always will be. I am not interested in other people. In our family you will always be in the first and highest place.

Remember also that your external beauty and attractiveness are given to you by God to delight my heart. And I see not only your face but also your heart, adding to this my love, and in this combination you will always be the most beautiful person for me, no matter how time changes you. Therefore, I want to ask you not to spend much time in front of the mirror for the demands of the world, but sometimes to ask me how I find you. And I will tell you the whole truth about how beautiful you are. But these are just thoughts aloud.

I like in you that you allow yourself to be loved and let me into your heart, accepting everything I want to share with you. When we were friends, it was already so joyful to get to know you from the inside and give you my love and friendship. And now, when we have become the closest people, I imagine what happiness in knowing each other awaits us ahead. I can now discover in you so many amazing things and use them by the right of a husband that even my breath is taken away by such luxury. I am going to study you all my life and then all Eternal life to always find something new in you and thank God for such a miracle. You represent a special interest for me.

And also there are only three things I like in you:

1. Everything you do;

2. Everything you say;

3. Everything you are.

That is why I chose you, so that you would be mine and always be available for my love for you.

I think that, reading these lines, you are surprised at how accurately I describe everything. This is not me; it is the Lord inspiring me to set such goals in our building of happiness. Therefore, I so boldly describe everything I have been taught.

I love you, my dear beloved person called wife. You so gladden my heart and bring so many blessings by your presence in my life! To be continued.

Your husband.”
