Interrupted conversation
In communication with friends, sometimes you encounter various interesting tasks, the solution of which is not always clear, and sometimes completely unclear. But each of us has the Lord, who always suggests the best way out and helps achieve victory.
To one camp gathering came my friends to tell me that they were divorcing and would never live together again. I understood that they needed help, since they themselves were not able to help themselves. They told me about this during dinner, and I suggested talking with them, to which they agreed not very willingly.
We moved to a separate table at the end of the dining hall and began a not very pleasant conversation. I gave my friends the opportunity to express what filled their hearts, and they initially accused each other of all the terrible problems that were between them. While I listened to their position regarding family relationships, I simultaneously prayed to God for wisdom from above, since the situation was interesting. In the course of communication I began to ask leading questions and break their stereotypes, which greatly prevented them from seeing their situation differently.
The Lord sent me the necessary thoughts and words and decided to see this matter through to the end, no matter how much time it took. I understood that if friends were let go like this halfway, then everything would end in divorce. And this is not a solution to the problem, but an aggravation. Fortunately, no one interfered with us, and we talked for more than three hours. The Lord won in this war, and everything ended with my friends deciding to renew their relationships and reconsider many controversial questions that turned out to be not so fundamental.
As a result, after some time they had a son who brought many blessings into their relationships.
I already had experience solving such questions before this and understood that if I started such a conversation, it could not be interrupted.
A year later at the next camp gathering, other friends of mine approached me with a similar problem and declared that they were divorcing. I listened to them and prayed in my heart, understanding that I needed to help somehow. As a result, we talked for a very long time, postponing all other matters, until the problem was resolved in the best way. And the conversation began with mutual accusations, where each considered himself right. I listened to my friends and prayed. God's intervention in such situations always amazes me, and the Lord gave appropriate words, arguments and reasoning.
At the end of our conversation my friends no longer wanted to divorce, but began to plan their family life within the framework of happiness, love and friendship.
In such conversations there is no general rule that would ideally suit everyone in all cases of life. But the Lord reveals the true problem to people who pray about it. He shows the best solution, bringing it to mind and heart.
It is very difficult to help those who have their own vision and do not want to accept something else.
Not so long ago I decided to talk with my friends who could not figure out their relationships. I suggested they meet in Zoom and with God's help figure it out. I gave each the opportunity to express their position and planned to bring this conversation to victory. But Zoom has the peculiarity of interrupting after 40 minutes, and then you have to reconnect to continue.
When our conversation was interrupted, one of the friends decided not to go online anymore, and instead of solving the problem, the situation only worsened. An interrupted conversation does not solve problems, but leaves all questions hanging in the air.
But the saddest thing is that a friend will not always remember all the details of the conversation, but he will never forget what he felt during our communication. And when the conversation began with mutual accusations and then was interrupted, never reaching the victory of love and friendship, then there is a risk that you too will be entered into the "black list" as one from whom there are only problems.
There is a very good conversation interrupter—this is our phone. Have you ever had it happen that you are conducting a heartfelt conversation in which vital questions are being resolved, and you are interrupted by a call that for some reason you need to answer, and then you try to return to the conversation, but something is already going wrong in it.
When I see that an important conversation is ahead, I turn off my phone and do not answer any calls until all questions are resolved.
Unresolved questions are somewhat reminiscent of a pebble in a shoe. If you pay no attention to it, then it will continue to cause pain and discomfort. And no matter how beautiful these shoes are, while a pebble is in them, they will create discomfort.
Of course, there are also such problems and conversations that are not resolved in one conversation, and you have to meet with people many times and try various options. And the Lord helps in such cases too.
If you remove pride and selfishness from the heart, then all questions will be resolved very quickly and easily, and they will not even arise.
I know such a person who was so tired of constant family scandals that he decided to leave home and temporarily live with his friends. Friends accepted him without unnecessary questions, but did not let this matter take its course. While this person lived as a guest, not knowing how to live further and where to go, his friends did everything possible to help this family recover. They talked with him and his wife for a long time, presented certain arguments, persuaded and prayed. And as a consequence of this care for their friend, this family did not fall apart, but the spouses reconsidered many things and decided not to go for such separations in the wrong spirit anymore.
We read in Eccl. 7:8: "Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." Any matter brought to completion with God's help brings joy and a sense of deep satisfaction to life. And when this matter is restoration of relationships in the light of love, happiness and friendship, everyone benefits from this.
Love knows how to solve all tasks at an early stage and does not bring relationships to crisis. And if this love is mutual, then it so delights loving hearts that there is no need to invent troubles for oneself.
One should also not dedicate strangers to someone's problems. A person who does not know the situation as a whole will find it difficult to have an objective opinion about existing questions, and there is danger that this opinion will become subjective or biased.
If in all families they learned to love each other, how our world would be transformed! There would be no divorces, there would be no orphans with living parents. And soon will come that day when sin will end its existence, and love will reign throughout the entire Universe.
