What Your Husband Doesn't Like?
All people are children of one father and mother, but at the same time, we are all separated by boundaries, languages, culture, traditions, skin color and many other factors. But there are two groups of people who, although they always remain different and opposite to each other, are unchanging and similar in their kind and internal structure. These are men and women.
Describing the characteristics of characters, habits and tastes of men from Africa, one can safely say that in Europe or America they are exactly the same, except for people with damaged minds.
Cultural characteristics can form masculine pride and dignity in a man, but he will never become a woman and will not think and see the world as she does.
Your present or future husband, although he is a unique personality, is still similar to his other brothers in his way of thinking. If this is a believing person, then he has a great advantage, and the difference is that he is capable of hearing God's voice and changing something in his habits and tastes under the influence of God's grace. In all other cases, men are very stable beings in whom no special changes occur over the years. If you understand who your potential partner for family life is and what kind of mindset he has, then you can be confident that little will change in him over the years.
The righteousness of Christ is capable of improving and establishing God's principles in your husband, but sin can also destroy everything good in him. And these two forces will always fight for possession of his mind and will.
If you got a patient man who knows how to restrain his feelings and emotions and willingly serves you, this doesn't mean that he is not like everyone else and can be remade to suit yourself. This means that he loves you and considers your expectations, taking upon himself part of the masculine responsibility for family happiness.
If your husband is younger than you, this doesn't give you the right to be his educator and teacher. It won't work. He won't tolerate such an attitude and will fight for his right to be the head and make decisions himself.
A man doesn't like it when they try to make him a woman and girlfriend, expecting from him feminine reaction, thinking or behavior characteristic of the weaker half of humanity. He will never react to the same event in the same way as his wife. Perhaps, seeking an easy path in life, he will want to become a dependent and taste life without worries and obligations, but this will not make him what he should be according to the Creator's design.
Your husband will never like your dominance in decision-making. For the sake of peace in the family, he may make some concessions, but this will be temporary in nature.
Teaching your husband about life, giving him advice or valuable instructions, determining his place in the family - this is what causes righteous protest in his heart, and he will never love such an attitude.
A man will never like having his voice raised at him, being scolded for his mistakes, your grumbling and lamenting. He will never love insults addressed to him or any kind of physical violence from your side.
He will never respect a woman who loses her temper and takes out her indignation or dissatisfaction on him.
Be careful when you advise your husband to study some science or take some training to improve his level of knowledge and development. He may consider this humiliating and not react at all to your suggestions. And don't give him books about how to become a real or business man. Let him come to this himself.
It's difficult to deal with a proud person, but masculine pride is not always a sin. A man wants to be a leader in his family, and it's the wife's role to encourage this quality of his nature and support this status at all times.
If it's difficult for you to restrain your bad emotions, then you shouldn't pour them out on your husband. This will change little, and relationships will be destroyed. It's better to share all your negative experiences with God. He will accept and understand everything, and comfort you.
You don't need to save your husband from his failures. Just be nearby, don't judge him and let him make his own decision about getting out of the situation.
Reminding him of past mistakes, sins or inadequate actions will not bring you happiness to your home and will never be appreciated with respect for your memory.
Don't try to convince your husband that your opinion is more correct and better. Give him the right to make mistakes and to independently search for the right solution.
Don't remove from your husband his responsibility to be the main and primary breadwinner and to decide for himself how he should earn money to support the family.
If your salary is higher or more stable, then never reproach your spouse with this. He won't be happy that you exalt yourself above him.
Such expressions as: "But I told you!!!" or: "You should have listened to me!!!" or: "How many times do I have to repeat this to you!!!" and similar should not sound in your home.
Your husband won't like your participation in finding better work for him or hints that he earns little. Let him decide these questions himself, and you listen and support him, inspiring with kind words.
Husbands don't like it when they are compared with other men, setting strangers as an example to follow or worse, putting them higher and as a reproach.
When a man falls into despondency and solves his problems, then you don't need to sympathize with him or pester him with offers of help. Your cheerfulness and optimism can do more good than you think.
Don't rush to load your tired husband with your stories about the events of the day. He's not always ready to listen to you and needs peace.
Giving advice is welcomed only when it's asked for and needed. But try to advise in such a way that this doesn't place responsibility on you for unforeseen mistakes. Let the last word be with your husband.
Communication with your husband about what he likes and what he doesn't will help you learn a lot of interesting things about the inner world of a man, will form trust and give prospects for avoiding mistakes in this area. If you learn new details from him about what he doesn't like, then be sure to remember this and try to consciously not violate these boundaries. Of course, common sense and free will should be present in everything.
For example, if your husband doesn't like your refusal in something you don't want to do or can give him, then this is your right, and he should understand and accept this. Violence against the will is inadmissible in a happy family.
A believing husband will perhaps be more loyal to all your ignorances and mistakes in behavior. But with a man who doesn't know God, it's worth being very wise and careful so as not to create problems where they can be avoided.
By the reaction and responses of her spouse, a woman is capable of quickly determining what else, outside the list of this lesson, he doesn't like. You will never remake your husband. Don't waste energy on this. God can change something in his life, so cooperate with God and adapt to what you have.
Love for your husband is capable of closing his eyes to many of your mistakes. If he understands that you do and advise him everything out of love for him, then he will accept this in simplicity of heart and will not resist it.
