A Real Man

If you ask any woman about who a real man is and what qualities he should possess, most likely each of them will tell you that for her a real man is a person who meets her expectations and needs and does what is currently relevant for her.

For example, a single mother with two small children will say that a real man never abandons his wife. A deceived woman will say that he should be faithful, a young girl will wish that he be romantic and give flowers with candies, a businesswoman will prefer that he turn out to be a man of word and deed. As many people as you ask, that many subjective opinions you will hear. And what will men say? Each of them will also have their own vision and understanding.

And how will the world answer? It's better not to listen. Advertising from all sides creates an image of this "real one" who drinks fashionable beer, drives expensive cars, doesn't work anywhere and yet is fabulously rich. And young people are instilled and imposed with the image of a person who has many girlfriends and can change them like gloves. Probably there are no greater speculations about anything than about defining who should be real. And some kind of mirage is created that exists only in movies, but which few have achieved in reality.

However, there is God, Who created this man and put His law in his heart, but man fell and went into many thoughts. And yet God's word defines a special group of people who fear God and honor Him in their lives.

We read Prov. 9:10: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." From here begins everything most real and unshakeable. There are many masculine qualities that make a man valuable, correct and real, but his faith in God and Jesus sent by Him is a solid foundation for any good qualities, which acquire their strength and establish a person's will in all good. Without a foundation, even the most pompous and beautiful building will crack and be destroyed during unexpected testing by bad weather.

The most real man is Jesus. He shows us an example of behavior in this world. The Holy Spirit will teach every man who believes in Christ to be real.

Love is the most correct motive and driving force in setting a goal and achieving it. It firmly connects a man's will with the Foundation of his spiritual and everyday wisdom and restores God's image in the heart.

When there is the correct Foundation and the driving force of love, then it's not difficult for the Heavenly Teacher to endow His son with good qualities of soul, which are worthily appreciated not only in Heaven, but also on this earth.

Goal-setting is what gives the right direction to the movement of all human resources. A man determines the goal of his life and confidently goes toward it, asking for strength and wisdom on this path.

Responsibility is what becomes a principle of life for a person who understands that obligations are placed upon him which he cannot leave without harm to other people. Any kind of work, service, education, creating a family union, having children - all this places upon a man those obligations which he simply cannot fail to fulfill. Any man will have to give an account for the trust shown to him.

It is expected that a man will be master of his word, and his promises will not diverge from his deeds. And any deed will have the correct motive, based on his relationship with God, on love and obedience to God's will.

Freedom, which only the Lord can give, gives a man the power to make independent choices in all spheres of life.

Control of the higher powers of mind, will and logic allows him to manage the desires, inclinations and instincts of the soul. A person led by the Holy Spirit will not let them dominate over his will, even if the world teaches otherwise. He has understanding of all these processes in life, and he has access to power from above for victory over every thought, making it obedient to Christ.

Such a man is faithful to his principles, like an arrow to a compass. He justifies the trust of those with whom he binds himself with obligations, and allows others to hope in him and create strong business and personal connections with him.

Developing his relationships with women, he doesn't play with their feelings, doesn't offend them and realizes the responsibility of family relationships before starting or suggesting something in this direction. And if he does embark on the path of creating a family, then he maintains his faithfulness and doesn't remove obligations from himself, even if something isn't going well in the relationship.

A man doesn't become real by the fact of being born into this world or even - being born again. This is a process of growth and formation that makes God's man spiritually and emotionally mature, opening to him extensive potential for development.

Such a man is not afraid to make mistakes and confess his mistakes, forgiving also those who make mistakes in relation to him. He will never lower himself to start hating someone or become a judge of someone's life or conscience.

Such a man loves to learn, master new sciences, delve into the essence of matters and try everything in the practice of life. For him, any sphere is an opportunity to expand his horizons and learn something useful and interesting.

The heart of such a man is open to everyone, and he can contain everything in himself, knowing how to cast all his cares upon Christ, following the example of his Heavenly Teacher.

Such a man is happy himself and capable of making everyone around him happy, not depending on their mood or opinion. He is not afraid to laugh at himself if there is reason for it, but will never humiliate another in his own eyes.

Such a man doesn't worry about his beauty and appearance, but doesn't allow himself to be untidy and dirty. He observes the condition of his physical and emotional health and is master of his mood. He is morally and emotionally stable and ensures that this stability is based on mercy and justice toward his neighbors.

Such a man loves his friends and neighbors according to the commandment at all times and, like a brother, will appear in time of trouble.

You will ask about where to find such men, such real ones. They exist with God, and He forms such character in each of His sons. He accepts him, preparing him for life among holy beings. When this process is launched in the heart by God, then it doesn't matter at what stage of growth it will be interrupted by death. Such people will always be alive in the eyes of Heaven and will inherit Eternity. If you were fortunate to meet such a man and become his friend, brother, sister or wife, then value these relationships and support them with your mutual love.

Only such a real person will be able to notice and appreciate a real man. His principles of life and moral purity are not welcomed in the perishing world, and many will laugh at him and persecute him, as they persecuted Christ, and even want to kill him. But the opinion of the world is not a criterion for a real man. He awaits God's approval and has it within himself in the form of love, happiness and friendship. He is not afraid to share these good qualities of his soul.

What if, reading these lines, I don't find myself to be real? What to do if I'm not like this? The principles described here were not invented by the author of this lesson, but are placed by God into the open heart of every man.
