Love Through Time
The most valuable resource that all living on earth possess is time. Someone has a lot of it, and someone has none at all, but all people receive it in equal measure. Someone decided that time is money, and someone understands that this is our life. Someone wants to give you their time just like that and very much, and someone can sell you their time for a certain fee. And the more professional a person is, the more expensive he values his time. And very rich people will not even sell you one minute, because they value their time above all money and will not spend it on what does not interest them.
Even reading or listening to these lessons, you dedicate your time to learning those truths that will make your life better and your thoughts cleaner.
But however you evaluate yourself, your children and your family also claim your time. And if you don't have children yet, then perhaps you have parents for whom you are a child while they are alive. And they will also be glad for the time you allocate to them for the manifestation of any love language.
Time was given to people after the fall as the main capital with which they can exchange with each other, and within which they will be able to arrange their short life.
Time is one of those love languages that is present in all other heart languages. But for someone this may be the loudest and most understandable language in which all other manifestations of your love will have special meaning and significance.
When a child asks to play with him, then most likely what is important to him is not the quality of the game, but the time you will spend with him. And whether you should invest this precious resource of yours in your descendants is decided only by you and no one else. Children unerringly determine what value they represent to you, and not only by your words, but also by your deeds and your time that you invest in them.
Everything that surrounds us consists of time that was spent on growth or manufacturing of this. And how much is your child worth in your eyes? A strange question. But it is precisely your time that you invest in him that determines his real value, and you will receive with profit exactly what you invest.
When a person builds a house for himself, his task does not include something quick and somehow, just to have walls and a roof, because he has to live in this building for the rest of his life. But when it comes to raising children, many catastrophically have no time for this, as there are more important things.
Some researchers conducted surveys and found that on average fathers spend from 30 seconds to 2 minutes a day with their children. And yet any child has no less time than any adult. Children will always find something to occupy themselves with. But who will grow up without parental influence can only be sadly imagined. No one will give your child what will gladden your heart in subsequent years. Only you yourself can invest this in him with your time and your attitude toward him.
Seeing your busyness, children will value every minute of yours that you will invest in them. This does not mean that time should be qualitative and contain some special meaning, for example, being filled with exoticism or interesting information. The time your son or daughter needs is you and your presence nearby. And how qualitative it can be, and what love language can be applied to this, you can decide together.
If you do not want to be lonely in old age, do not allow your children to be lonely in youth.
Even if time is not your child's heart language, you still need to allocate it for communication and instruction, for games and walks, for joint activities and events. Common time forms healthy relationships.
When you decide to give your child time only to punish him, make a reprimand or give another moral lecture, then the child may want to receive you exactly this way, to be in your company.
If you constantly talk to your children in any foreign language, they will quickly learn it and be able to communicate freely in it. But if you do not devote time to such training, then the result will be zero.
In the first years of a child's life, the mother spends a lot of time with him, and the language of time is close to him. And since dad is the breadwinner, and he is not always nearby, he represents special interest for the child, and father's time is very valuable for the baby. It brings a masculine worldview into the baby's life and something that cannot be obtained from mom.
The language of time is a native language for every child and person, but for someone it is a special channel to the heart through which one can convey love and open the beauty of God's character, teaching that God also devotes His time to us so that we may be happy in His presence.
As a rule, the best time that can be spent qualitatively by the whole family together is mealtime. Everyone is busy with a pleasant activity, everyone is nearby, and everything is delicious for everyone. And if desired, each meal can be made a festival for the soul.
Also, time before sleep is the most favorable for expressing your love, giving useful instructions, exchanging valuable thoughts and events and experiencing something unforgettably good that the family carries. But the most important thing happens when you wish your child good night, and he doesn't want to let you go, wraps your neck with his little hands and begins to share his most intimate thoughts and secrets, opening up in a trusting conversation. Treasure these moments and do not hurry to leave.
It is very good when, spending time together with children, your mind is directed toward each other, and not toward receiving information from outside. You should always remember that although these are your children, you do not know them well enough to understand how interesting and unique they are inside, and what enormous potential is embedded in their souls. All this is revealed to you not in one moment, but gradually, day by day, and only during your joint time together.
Spending time with a child and communicating with him, accustom yourself to looking into his eyes. This is very important and necessary for children. With such exchange of glances, a strong emotional connection is created, and you not only hear your child, but also feel him, understand and give much more than you imagine.
Modern means of communication allow dedicating time to each other even if you are far from each other. Use these means as much as possible to spend time together.
Your child is growing. He gets new friends and new hobbies, but this does not mean that he does not need your time. On the contrary, he very much needs you and your support when he has to make important decisions and untangle complex tasks. The language of time does not disappear, and you are always in demand for communication in it. But this should be a language of love, not reprimands and nagging. No matter how bad your child may be, in your company he should feel good and comfortable. And love will find the right words to convey important information to the young consciousness and produce necessary changes in his mind.
